Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to ensure an integrated, effective and efficient asset, cash and liabilities accounting system.The successful incumbent must possess the following personal attributes:Trustworthy; Objective and assertive; Performance driven. This position is based in Cape Town.

Minimum

Requirements:

:
A 3-year tertiary qualification with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in financial accounting.
Recommendation: A valid driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas Manage the clearance of balances in the assets and liabilities accounts; Manage the provision of asset and liability information for monthly IYM reporting/financial statement reporting; Manage allocations of cash receipts of the department; Manage claims recoverable and payable of the department; Manage adjustment journals of the department in relation to Expenditure/revenue/assets and liabilities; Manage performance/team discipline/leave of section.
Competencies Knowledge of the following:
PFMA and applicable legislation ;Government Financial Systems (BAS); Reporting Framework (SCOA); Proven Computer literacy; Supervisory skills; Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape.
Remuneration R 226 611 per annum (Salary level 7)

Note on remuneration: : Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
