Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to render financial management support services. The successful incumbent must possess the following personal attributes: Ability to perform routine tasks, interpersonal relations, accuracy. This position is based in Cape Town.

Minimum

Requirements:

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).

Recommendation: 1-year relevant experience within an Internal Control, Audit or Governance environment; Financial systems experience (BAS, LOGIS and PERSAL etc.).

Key Performance Areas:

Maintaining financial information and Knowledge Management (voucher control); Evaluate the effectiveness of financial prescripts (perform pre and post audit inspections); Render clerical support services with regard to assurance services, governance and fraud and losses management.

Competencies:

A good understanding of the following: Financial norms and standards (Public Financial Management Act, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury directives/ instructions; Procurement and provisioning related tasks, prescripts, regulations, accounting officer system and delegations; Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape; Proven computer literacy; Interpersonal relations; Planning and organising skills.

Remuneration: R 152 862 per annum (Salary Level 5)

Note on remuneration: : : Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
