Electronics Engineer – Kempton Park

ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGIES MANUFACTURER IS CURRENTLY SEEKING AN ELECTRONICS ENGINEER FOR THEIR OFFICES IN KEMPTON PARK

Software:  C/C++ or C# Development


Hardware: RS-485, I2C, JTAG

Requirements:



  • B.Eng Electronic engineering or computer science

  • 5-10 years’ experience in C/C++ or C# Development, with some hands-on embedded hardware experience.

  • Experience with hardware interfaces (RS-485, I2C, JTAG etc).

  • Experience with Embedded Debug tools.

  • Experience with Jenkins an advantage.

  • Experience working in an Agile Development Methodology preferred


 


Duties include, but not limited to:



  • Develop automated and manual tests as part of an agile team, in partnership with product development.

  • Enhance and expand the current QA Infrastructure, driving efficiency into the test suite.

  • Connecting hardware devices to CI test suite, to run real world tests on the codebase.

  • Develop test software from scratch to test firmware functionality autonomously.

  • Conduct proof of concept investigations into new tools, methods, and test strategy.

  • Perform minimal manual testing by automating the validation and verification process.

  • Train support teams to better execute manual field-trails.

  • Ensure that bugs are treated with importance and try to limit the amount that are made live.

  • Manage and schedule the release cycle of all products

  • Help create Acceptance Test Procedures.

  • Manage the execution of Acceptance Test Procedures. 

  • Use requirement traceability to reduce test coverage.

  • Assist with Field-trials of embedded systems and software systems.



  • Quality from the start – get involved in the user story definition process and write test scenarios upfront.  

  • Bring a QA perspective to planning sessions and ensure test effort is taken into consideration.

  • Support - Assist with resolution and reproduction of user software problems, to enable feedback into the development of better tests. 

  • Conversion of current manual tests (If needed), into automated tests.
