Responsibilities:
BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT
1.1 ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT
Objectives:
- Contribute to the overall engineering activities related to the delegated tasks
- Contribute towards, draft and present for review relevant engineering documentation in accordance with delegated tasks
- Contribute and actively participate in general engineering activities (meetings, discussions, activities, engineering change requests, etc)
- Actively participate in and contribute towards engineering reviews, including documentation reviews and project reviews
- Contribute to overall engineering team performance and successes
- Manage the engineering effort (internal activities and activities by contractors/suppliers) for adhering to established engineering standards and principles
- Ensure that the engineering effort achieve and maintains its goals and objectives
- Comply with and apply internally defined and established engineering standards and policies
- Ensure that the engineering effort reaches its agreed progress milestones
- Provide recommendations for engineering process improvement
- Assist with project closure

1.2 SYSTEMS REQUIREMENT/ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN MANAGEMENT
Objectives:
- Ensure that new and/or changed requirements, architecture and/or designs are communicated effectively through the use of the appropriate mechanisms and channels
- Initiate and contribute to the following tasks resulting from changes to existing requirements, architectures and designs:
o Determine the complexity and scope of suggested changes
o Identify conflicts or incompatibilities with existing systems
o Identify conflicts or incompatibilities with existing requirements, architectures and designs
o Conduct risk analysis
o Conduct cost/benefit analysis related to the change(s)
o Estimate resource requirements to complete the work
- Produce documentation or its equivalent, that can be systematically reviewed, evaluated and approved

1.3 REQUIREMENTS, ARCHITECTURAL AND DESIGN ANALYSIS
Objectives:
- Detect, communicate and resolve conflicts between requirements, architectures and designs
- Determines and confirm the scope and bounds of the system and how it must interact with its environment
- Decompose system requirements into lower-level requirements, architecture and designs

1.4 REQUIREMENT ELICITATION
Objectives:
- Identify requirement sources such as stakeholders, operational environment and general domain knowledge
- Conduct requirement elicitation techniques such as meetings, interviews, observations, testing, scenarios, prototypes and conceptual models

- Quality of system requirements and control thereof
1.5 REQUIREMENT, ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN VALIDATION
Objectives:
- Actively participate in reviews of requirements, architectures and designs
- Comply with established standards and best operating practice
- Perform prototyping and modelling to validate interpretation of requirements, architecture and designs
- Identify related problems before resources are committed to addressing designs and architectures

1.6 QUALITY ATTRIBUTES
Objectives:
- Actively manage and maintain run-time system quality attributes (performance, security, availability, maintainability, functionality, usability)
- Actively manage and maintain structural quality attributes (modifiability, portability, reusability, integrity and testability)
- Architectural attributes (conceptual integrity, correctness, completeness)

1.7 ARCHITECTURAL ATTRIBUTES
Objectives:
- Address architectural viewpoints
o Logical view (functional requirements)
o Process view (concurrency issues)
o Data modelling view (data structuring and handling issues)
o Physical view (distribution issues)
o Development view (how design is decomposed into implementation units)
- Address product families through identification of commonalities among similar products. Exploit these as reuse opportunities and customise components to address variability between family members

1.8 IMPLEMENT DESIGN STRATEGY
Objectives:
- Implement the design strategy
- Address construction-level detailed design issues, produce appropriate documentation and identify conflicts with architectural or high-level design decisions.

1.9 INTEGRATION
Objectives:
- Arrange and planning the sequence in which components are to be integrated
- Provide support for the integration process

1.10 TESTING
Objectives:
- Perform appropriate engineering testing
- Generate test instructions
- Ensure traceability is maintained
- Maintain test records

1.11 CONFIGURATION
Objectives:
- All documentation to be configured in accordance with internal configuration management policies and procedures
- Issue tracking to be conducted in accordance with established standards and procedures
- Actively participate in formal baseline establishments
- Adherence to ECR processes and procedures
- Preservation of the integrity and traceability of the configuration throughout the system life cycle

2 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
2.1 BUDGET AND PROJECT INPUTS
Objectives:
- Provide inputs required for project scoping (work breakdown, coordination)
- Provide inputs for project scheduling and estimation (timescales, required level-of-effort)
- Identify assumptions and potential risks to be considered during estimation and scoping
- Suggest risk reduction and mitigation measures
- Identify opportunities for project artefact reuse
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and savings

- Quality of inputs to project scoping, estimation and overall successes
2.2 INPUTS TO CONTRACTOR/SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
Objectives:
- Provide inputs required for contractor’s/supplier’s estimated levels-of-effort (work breakdown, coordination)
- Prepare Statements Of Work (SOW’s) for contractors’ work allocations as required by project management
- Identify assumptions and potential risks to be considered during estimation and scoping
- Suggest risk reduction and mitigation measures
- Implement risk reduction and mitigation measures to ensure contractors’/suppliers’ success
- Ensure contractors’/suppliers’ deliverables meet quality and performance criteria prior to invoice sign-offs
- Confirm contractors’/supplier’s invoices match deliverables and quoted level-of-effort invoiced for

5 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- BTech degree or BSc in electronic/computer engineering
- 5+ years experience in the Electronic Engineering field
- Experience in developing for harsh environmental conditions
- Hardware and Software R&D Experience non-negotiable
- Gas detection Technologies experience beneficial
- Intrinsic Safety experience beneficial
- Knowledge of Collision Warning and Detection Technologies beneficial
- Familiar with wireless communication technologies
- Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary environment non-negotiable
