Production Engineer

Job Description:

 

  • Ensure customer requirements are met with regards to geometry
  • Guarantee process and quality of products manufactured
  • Optimize plant layout to improve material & product flow in plant
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing related problems and sub-standards performance
  • Involvement in continuous improvement principles
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing activities
  • Investigate and implement continuous improvements initiatives
  • Improvement in Line OEE according to MES
  • Improve and optimize line cycle times
  • Reduce waste where possible
  • Generate and implement cost saving projects
  • Develop and implement work instructions and documentation
  • Ensure ECR are implemented and controlled throughout the production processes
  • Analyze weld report in order to improve stability
  • Optimize screwing, riveting, Spot weld, Projection welds, Mig/Mag Welds, Laser welds, and glue sealer application
  • Immediate diagnosis of the quality problems, and identify a solution to the problem and establish long term solutions.
  • Develop action plans for realization of improvement part quality and stability
  • Verify part release, self-control sheet, parameter sheets are completed as per control plan
  • Documenting evidence of parameter changes
  • Ensure parameter backups are being conducted as per schedule
  • Ensure safe keeping of parameter and parameter changes
  • Involvement in the updating of Control Plans, FMEA’s,
  • Involvement in the Preparation of Work Instructions, Process Charts.
  • Implement engineering changes as it occurs
  • Compliance with Quality manual book in accordance with IATF16949 standards
  • Ensure that equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures are operating in optimal conditions
  • Operation and modification of robot programs of KUKA and ABB robots
  • Maintain a safe and accident free work environment
  • Attend to breakdowns
  • Train others when required

Job

Requirements:  

  • National Diploma: Mechanical engineering
  • At least 2 years experience within Automotive Industry in similar position
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative, have good problem solving skills, excellent time management and able to work independently.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PSW, FMEA, Control Plans and G8D , SPC, Cm, Cmk, Pp PpPk, Cp CPk
  • Knowledge of 5S,TPM,WCM,SMED,Lean six sigma to improve OEE
  • Knowledge of TS16949 standards
  • Knowledge of ABB / Kuka Robotics will be an advantages
  • Good computer skills, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) & AutoCAD
  • Ability to take initiative, have good problem solving skills, excellent time management and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge in Kaizen tools
  • Sound understanding of welding systems
