Chef (qualified)

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for the villa kitchen’s daily operations.
  • Ensuring the hygiene and safety of kitchens are being maintained at the highest level. Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen.
  • Liaising with Lodge Manageress & the relevant companies for villa food orders.
  • Creating new dishes and menus and providing costs.
  • Preparing a suggested menu for villa guests prior to their arrival & adjusting this to their requirements.
  • Preparing / executing all meals, tea’s etc. for the villa guests.
  • Liaising with / conversing with / hosting guests. (The villa kitchen is based in the villa and is open plan to the living area – so guests will interact directly with the chef)
  • Ensuring they have stock of all items (as per the villa guest’s requirements) prior to their arrival.
  • Maintaining/raising the food’s profit margins.
  • Monitoring and controlling food stock levels. Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed.
  • Check that meals meet and exceed internal customer service expectations by training and encouraging staff to use exceptional guest care standards.
  • Identify training needs, train cooks and include skills to produce consistent results.

Requirements:

  • Must have solid luxury lodge / villa experience
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Have a passion for working with people and excellent guest interactive skills
  • Perfect command of English
  • Formal training / qualification as a chef 
  • Flexible
  • Driver’s license preferable
  • Must be able to produce a portfolio
  • Must have contactable references
