Compliance Monitoring Analyst

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Remaining abreast of legal developments in general and specifically within the motor industry and analysing the impact of new and developing regulatory requirements on the business.
  • Providing assistance in the coordination, research and preparation of in-depth regulatory evaluation.
  • Coordinating and advising management on new legislation for the department.
  • Adequately preparing, supporting and providing necessary documentation for internal and external audits for applicable legislative requirements, including those as outlined by the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA)
  • Working with the relevant departments to facilitate, design, provide training, implement necessary internal measures, enhance measures in accordance with legislative amendments and monitor compliance in relation to the Risk Management Compliance Programme
  • Co-ordinating targeted Anti-Money Laundering training, ensuring maintenance and updates in accordance with applicable legislative changes and monitor completion status for target groups.
  • Identifying applicable Legal Compliance risks and competently advise on regulatory matters.
  • Preparation and qualitative analysis of Compliance reporting to relevant forums.
  • Preparing appropriate content and work with internal Communications to facilitate the Annual Plan for continuous and effective communication for various targeted audiences on related Compliance legislative topics.
  • Developing, preparing and maintaining Risk Management Compliance Programme and related Organisational Directive/s, Work Instructions, Process Standards that depict the implementation of the legislative compliance obligations.
  • Assisting with Ad-hoc tasks related to IRC topics to broaden scope and efficiency of the department.
  • Performing timeous and detailed Integrity Checks in accordance with Group Compliance requirements for requests related to Plant Visits, Product Placement, Sponsorships, and Donations & Business Partners etc.
  • Preparing a summary for the business in respect of the results of the Integrity Check and guidance where appropriate.
  • Provide operational support to ensure a timely, accurate and adequate rollout of the Standard Internal Control System (ICS) project & maintain Group ICS requirements after project conclusion
 Education and Experience

  • Post-Graduate qualifications in the various fields of regulatory compliance.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in Commercial Law or similar work experience.
  • Admission as an Attorney/Advocate will be advantageous.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Industry / at professional assistant level in a legal practice is recommended.
Skills, Attributes & Other requirements

  • Knowledge of the legislative framework affecting the Motor Industry and Business in general will be advantageous.
  • Strategic decision-making skills for executing measures to manage complicated tasks.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective processes and procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through presentations and individual discussions through all levels within the company (directors to staff level)
  • Independent judgment and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to provide training in relation to areas of responsibility.
  • Disciplined and able to perform under pressure.
  • Ability to motivate, delegate and ensure accountability.
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Should have a strong moral code and sense of ethics
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and directives
