Job Description:

 

  • Lead the implementation of safety related programs and procedures.
  • Develop and present safety related training and educational programs.
  • Communicate, administer, and maintain existing safety programs and procedures across all sites within the region.
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve safety programs.
  • Create and deliver safety related reports and presentations.
  • Mentor the plant EHS professionals.
  • Conduct, monitor and follow up on site safety assessments, surveys, and audits.
  • Work with corporate and plant management to ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to company expectations.
  • Ensure that the plant is operated in an environmentally safe and responsible manner, and that suitable recycling and waste management systems are implemented. 
  • Act, encourage, apply and enforce a responsible manner towards all aspects affecting the Environment, according to the various legislative rules, regulations, strives,  initiatives, policies, procedures, etc, and within the organization
  • Ensure plant obtains and maintains the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accreditation and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Maintain daily, weekly & monthly quality records, reports and documentation.
  • Ensure all Training Plan activities for the plant are arranged and completed, with all necessary feedback/effectiveness reported. 
  • Perform and participate in pre audit and quality audits / Visits activities for internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure all requirements for ISO 14001 & 45001 certification is updated and controlled as and when required.
  • Induction, Safety Awareness Training and any other internal training relating to Health, Environmental and Safety 
  • Ensure that the plant is operated in an environmentally safe and responsible manner, and that suitable recycling and waste management systems are implemented. 
  • Act, encourage, apply and enforce a responsible manner towards all aspects affecting the Environment, according to the various legislative rules, regulations, strives,  initiatives, policies, procedures, etc, and within the organisation. 
  • Help manage reporting staff in the quality department in the absence of the Quality Manager.
  • The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as and when required.

Job

Requirements:  

  • B-Tech: Safety and Environmental Management or equivalent Diploma
  • Five (5) – Several (7) years’ experience: Occupational Health and Safety, or related experience. (preferably within automotive manufacturing  industry)
  • Knowledge and experience with Safety and Environmental management systems (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001) + Safety and Environmental training: ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • High Level Computer Literacy - Excellent Experience with MS Office (specifically, Excel
