Actuarial Analyst

Role Purpose

To be involved in all aspects of actuarial management of a short-term insurer with a focus on remuneration modelling, marketing and operational insights for process optimisation, and other ad-hoc procurement insights. This is a broad, technical role with opportunities to develop in a range of directions.

 

Responsibilities and work outputs

  • Collect data from various sources and assess the completeness and accuracy of the data.
  • Perform data analysis and advise on appropriate actions to be taken.
  • Perform detailed statistical investigations using specialised software.
  • Design and build analytical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Assist with the cross-population of skills and ways of work that could find purpose in wider application.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with management across various regions.
  • Ensure adherence to escalation procedures and mandates on system.
  • Design and develop analytical reports in order to guide business decisions.
  • Develop and manage a spectrum of partners that could leverage off in designing the solutions to various identified opportunities.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2 years Short-term or General Insurance experience will be beneficial.
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Sciences, Business Mathematics. Other degrees or postgraduate qualifications with a statistical/modelling aspect and/or experience will be considered.
  • 2 years or more experience in Microsoft Excel, SQL.
