Job Purpose:

The Western Cape Government is seeking the services of a suitably qualified person to serve as a member on the Department of Health Audit Committee of the Western Cape Government. Audit Committee Members are appointed in their personal capacity as a member of the committee in accordance with the provisions of the PFMA, and not as an employee. Appointment will be for a three-year term and remuneration will be in accordance with a tariff approved by the relevant Accounting Officer.

Minimum

Requirements:

- Completed B-Degree;
- Relevant work experience on a senior/executive management level;
- Expertise in the Governance, Risk Management and Auditing field;
- Experience in the functional areas of the relevant departments an advantage;
- Display characteristics of objectivity, honesty and integrity;
- No criminal record;
- Exposure in serving on Governing Bodies or Oversight Committees, and should preferably not serve on more than 3 Governing or Oversight Bodies, including Audit Committees, to ensure that sufficient time is available for the business of the WCG;
- Those employed by the state/government should not apply unless they are willing to offer their services without compensation;
- Preference will be given to applicants whose appointment will enhance representivity in the Audit Committees;
- Be independent from all operations of the Western Cape Government;
- Be a citizen of the Republic of South Africa and resident in the Western Cape.

Competencies:

Knowledge of auditing, risk management, finance, governance, ethics, performance management, operations, information technology, relevant financial reporting and legislative frameworks, analytical and probing capability, demonstrable knowledge of strategic and management principles and logical reasoning ability

Remuneration: Remuneration will be in accordance with a tariff approved by the relevant Accounting Officer.
