Our client within the Manufacturing Industry is seeking a Account Manager to join their team.

Location : Port Elizabeth

Type : Permanent position
 
Job Requirements :
• Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering / Marketing preferred
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
• 3 to 5 years working experience
• Able to travel frequently to customers and to other company locations (overnight domestic and possible international travel)
• Original equipment manufacturer experience would be preferred
• Project management, organisational and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside the company in a professional manner including internal and external customer and manufacturing and assembly facilities
• Problem solving skills with the ability to work with people in high pressure situations
• Able to multi task
• Work productively across all functions and organisational levels
• Self starter and able to work unsupervised
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Word and MS projects as well as other computer applications with the ability to quickly learn internet-based programs for quoting etc
• Technically minded and experience reading design prints would be an advantage
 
Duties :
• Represent product lines to assigned customers
• Develop and participate in technical presentations to customers as needed utilising all the resources available to develop new program opportunities to support the growth plans of the division
• Develop and participate in pricing and new business proposal presentations to management in support of quotations and obtaining internal approvals
• Respond to customer requests on a timely basis – own quoting
• Respond to customer change requests and new business quotes by initiating inquiries, cost estimates and quotations
• Identify, pursue and support new business opportunities
• Support all areas of new and existing customer activities including launch and engineering change management
• Attend customer meetings (purchasing, engineering and platform teams) as required
• Interface both verbally and in written format with both external and internal customers
• Work with the customer engineers / purchasing to complete all product designs in accordance with customer requirements and specifications
• Negotiation of long term contracts, productivity agreements, pricing givebacks and cost savings with the customer
• Accurate annual forecasting of customer requirements
