Business Development Manager

Our client based in Port Elizabeth, is recruiting for an energetic and dynamic Business Development Manager. The successful candidate needs to have experience in the Insurance and Agricultural industry.

Requirements:

  • Qualification with BCom in Business Management.

  • FAIS Compliant.

  • Must be fluent in Afrikaans.

  • 5+ years’ experience in short term Insurance.

  • Experience in Agricultural and Farming industry.

  • Valid drivers’ licence as there is local travel.

  • Sound knowledge on local markets and industry sectors. 


 


 


Duties and responsibilities:



  • Marketing support at Agricultural Shows and Hospitality events.

  • Build and maintain relationships with specific Agriculture and Hospitality brokers.

  • Identify specific target area’s.

  • Target small towns where little or no exposure to the products.

  • Obtain a minimum of 20 quotations and 5 new business per month to start.

  • Provide specific covers for different commodities.

  • Research products for Emerging Farmers.

  • Work with a GWP Target of R20M.

  • Assist with multi – claimants’ actions.

  • Complete data in performance measuring system.

  • Allocation of the key brokers (Commercial/growth supporting brokers).

  • Prepare and presenting of quotes.

  • Explore partnerships with Co-ops.

  • Engage with key brokers and build relationships.

  • Prepare new business closings and cancellations with key brokers for onward transmission for processing.

  • Review policy ratios and guideline within mandates.

  • Proposing multi-claimants’ terms and negotiations with brokers.

  • Build and maintain relationships with local Tourism associations and offices.

  • Sourcing new brokers and presentation of products to potential clients.

  • Regional Penetration.

  • Research competitors and analysis of trends.

  • Responsible for renewal prep, peer review and survey actions.
