Civil And Structural Estimator

EDUCATION & SKILLS:



  • Minimum of 5-7 years technical experience and proven ability to develop professional tenders in civils and structural projects, including underground piping.

  • Completed diploma / degree in Civils or Structural Engineering / Management or Quantity Surveying.

  • Must have good construction and engineering contractual knowledge.

  • Must be computer literate, specifically with MS Office Suite and CCS (Candy).

RESPONSIBILITIES: :



  • Prepare Civil and Structural estimates as directed.

  • Carefully study and interpret tender documents, specifications, and drawings.

  • Ability to identified risks and opportunities and effectively communicate these to the Estimation and proposals management team.

  • Check the overall accuracy of the materials take-off / bills of quantities.

  • Ability to produce Bills of Quantities in accordance with recognised methods of measurement.

  • Prepare material take-offs were required.

  • Produce subcontract documentation for tendering purposes.

  • Preparation of commercial and technical adjudication documentation of materials / equipment / subcontract quotations.

  • Preparation of complete cost estimate using norms and industry standards.

  • Develop and update company estimating norms.

  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of production rates and plant and equipment capability in order to optimise costing.

  • Have high proficiency in the ability to fully demonstrate rate build ups and allowances.

  • Co-operate in the introduction of new techniques in estimating.

  • Carry out site visits as and when required.

  • Has the ability to interpret geotechnical reports and to identify associated risks dependant on proposed works requirement.

  • Work closely as part of a team with both colleagues within the department and the office team.

  • Ensure all company procedures with respect to estimating and procurement are adhered to.

  • Ensure that detailed spreadsheets are completed and that an accurate bid analysis is carried out on all quotations received. Ensure all the files are maintained as per company QA procedures and full traceability maintained.

  • Any other special assignments as given by the Estimating Manager or his designate.
