Quantity Surveyor

EDUCATION & SKILLS:



  • Must have a professional qualification / degree in QS, Economics or Construction Management.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on site within the O&G / M&M sector.

  • Must be a multiple disciplinary QS (CS/ MEIP).

  • Must be computer literate, specifically working with MS Office Packages. 


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:



  • Analytical skills associated with developing and utilizing performance measures and cost savings.

  • Work autonomously with direct Supervision.

  • Must have excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Strong letter writing skills.

  • Work well under pressure.

  • Deadline driven.

  • Detail orientated.

  • Sound understanding of contracts namely, Bespoke, NEC & FIDIC.


RESPONSIBILITIES: :



  • Assist the day-to-day delivery of all commercial aspects of the Project and ensure compliance within other departments

  • Follow and comply with Company and Project procedures.

  • Promotes ethical

  • Ensures the Project operates within the LLOA (Lines and Limits of Authority).

  • Commercially administer the project in accordance with the contract terms and conditions.

  • Compile and maintain up to date records of all Project specific, financial and commercial documentation and registers.

  • Review and approval of site mobilization and demobilization documentation

  • Administration and identification of Project commercial risks and inform the Project Manager of any risks that may be detrimental to the Project, including identification and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure good client relations.

  • Update monthly cost tracking tools to ensure consistent and precise reporting.

  • Estimating of CSMEIP Works in conjunction with the Project Planner, Project Construction Manager and Project Manager.

  • Development of Project CPS (Budget) in conjunction with the Project Manager, allowable, scope of work and schedule.

  • Development of accurate Monthly Cost Reports and report on changes

  • Compilation of monthly Pro-Forma Invoices & Tax Invoices

  • Site measurements of work, including obtaining client agreement of said measurements

  • Cost vs. Sales Analysis.

  • Ensures consistent cash-flow reporting.

  • Subcontract appointment and administration.

  • Subcontract compilation.

  • Subcontract evaluation.

  • Oversight and approval of purchased items.
